Our Hair Detangler Cheat Sheet at Premier Beauty

Hair detanglers are the unsung heroes of hair routines. Sure, they’re not as glamorous as the trendy texture sprays or the technologically advanced serums. However, the sheer fact that they’re still around after all that’s happened in hair texture trends (we’re talking ‘80s perms, glass hair, and the no poo method) deserves a spotlight in itself. They are “essential” workers in everyone’s hair business.

The products here double as leave-in conditioners if you’re in a pinch, but why give the leave-ins all the credit? Sometimes, we want JUST the detangler. If Korean skin care can have a 10-step process, then hair deserves its 10-step day in the sun. (Maximalists everywhere are shouting, “Once more for the people in the back!”)

Those who are still reading, how does it feel to be seen? We want to bring our hair detangler cheat sheet into the bright light of day, so those who’ve dared to ask, “What are the differences in hair detanglers?” can finally get their answer. We are just a humble distributor, but with the brands we have, we’ve done some research to make recommendations on what each one does best, so you can understand why the brand carried by your salon stands out from the rest.

Of course, we would recommend each of these to anyone (which is why we sell each one of these brands—they’re good, folks) but with this blog, we hope it leaves a feeling of validation to those, as we said, that have dared to ask for more information. On a side note, these sprays are good for all hair types, but we’ve called out hair types to make it easier for stylists to market them to certain clients. It should be noted that each brand has called out these specific hair types in their product descriptions. Without further ado, here is our cheat sheet on detanglers at Premier Beauty.

We know hair is most fragile when it’s wet. Nobody wants broken strands, so using a hair detangler is pretty much as essential as taking your vitamins, but who says it can’t be fun? Stylists, advise clients with thin hair to skip conditioner altogether and use a leave-in or detangler to untangle strands, without all the weight. Encourage experimenting.

Don’t forget curly hair, either! Even if you don’t comb through every day, due to curls, a hair detangler will add softness and reduce tangles throughout the day, too! Plus, there’s nothing the curly hair community hates to hear more than breakage (maybe shrinkage?), so a detangler will help minimize that on those brushing days.
