6 Things You Should Know About Keune Color Chameleon

07.20.2020

Has something ever become second nature that you stop registering the little nuances and details? With the salon being so busy right now, hair color application is probably second nature. In fact, you probably do hair color in your sleep. That’s why it’s our job at Premier Beauty to let you in on some little-known facts and features of our product lines, so nothing falls through the cracks.

Keune Color Chameleon is one of those hair color lines that we have to fill you in on. Keune Color Chameleon encourages experimentation with vivids in a compact, easy way, but there may be a few things you didn’t notice about these new color products.

Before we dig into that, let’s lay down the basics. The line, launched in March 2020, is nine shades of direct dye pigments consisting of Yellow, Orange, Red, Maroon, Magenta, Rose, Violet, Blue, and Green, plus two “shade shifters,” an apt nickname for a Clear and Dark color to make colors more pastel or intense.

To use Keune Color Chameleon:

1. Apply the color evenly with a color brush to pre-lightened, clean, and dry hair.
2. Comb the color evenly through the hair to achieve a uniform color result.
3. Develop for 20 minutes, or 30 minutes for more vibrancy and intensity.
4. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water until the water runs clear.

The ammonia-free, vegan shades contain a high concentration of pigments, and there’s no need for developers when applying these colors.

Ok, now that we’ve nailed that down, let’s get to the things that may surprise you about Keune Color Chameleon.

All Shades are Intermixable

This is a big one, and it’s one of the main reasons we say this new color line is easy.

Use Shade Shifters to Pastelize or Darken

When a client brings in a vivid picture they like and ask you to recreate, have the confidence to deliver exactly what they want using Keune Color Chameleon in Clear and Dark. With the Clear, you can bring the color up to the faintest pastel, and with Dark, a few calculations can get you to a formula that’s perfect for a shadow root.

Do Not Shampoo!

After rinsing out the color, don’t use shampoo. Instead, use a conditioner or leave-in product if desired. Of course, if clients would like the extend the life of their color (which lasts up to 20 washes depending on hair porosity, type, condition, and environmental factors) they can use Keune Style Dry Shampoo, Keune Style Dry Conditioner, and Keune Style Dry Texturizer.

Keune Color Chameleon Fades True to Tone

It won’t turn another color as it fades, it will just be a lighter version of the color you applied. This is good news, as some direct dyes fade into other colors as they wash out. Yikes.

There’s a Chameleon on the Box!

You may not know this, but the swirl on the box is actually the end of a Chameleon’s tail. I mean, if that’s not a fun fact, we don’t know what is.

It Has a Hashtag—#ColorAttitude

If you want to be featured by Keune, chances are they’re scanning the hashtag #ColorAttitude to find some bomb color pictures to use, so join in on the fun and start painting.
