Meet Alexxis Taylor, November Educator of the Month

11.01.2017

When we caught up with Alexxis Taylor, she was just coming off a busy week of classes with Brazilian Blowout. This educator’s work ethic is impressive—she’s always going 24/7—which is why we’ve chosen Alexxis Taylor, Brazilian Blowout Educator and Owner of Luxe SEVEN Salon, as Premier Beauty’s November Educator of the Month.

What’s your favorite product from Brazilian Blowout?

My favorite product right now is the Ionic Bonding Spray. My clients have been raving and raving about getting their week one results for 10 weeks. It smells absolutely delicious.

What's your best smoothing tip?

Know the products you’re using, because the after care is all formulated to work in conjunction. All of our after care products have the Brazilian Super Nutrient Complex in it—the amino acids that make the product work and help smoothing treatment results last longer.

What's the newest, freshest approach you're bringing to education?

When I teach, I give stylists extensive knowledge about using the product for every hair type. It’s not just for people that have curly frizzy hair. You can use on every client. Use your instinct and what you know as a stylist and apply that to the treatment. For example, you know that curly hair needs more heat. I teach exactly how many passes you need to decrease the curl and I also teach how to add volume to hair with the Brazilian Blowout.

What are the common problems faced by stylists today? How do you think those problems should be handled?

I think the most common problem is confidence. In order to pull off crazy colors and still have that healthy hair—that’s where b3 comes into play. It’s going to give you that extra confidence to say “Yes, I can do this.”

Advice?

Seek education. We can’t pretend like we know everything. We’re constantly having advancements and that means you have to evolve with the products.

The first step to making money is being a dedicated stylist. The sky's the limit, it just depends on how many hours you’re willing to work in a day. If you’re doing five Brazilian Blowouts at $275 each and you’re doing this every week. You can bring in more than $70,000 a year from Brazilian Blowout alone.

What’s the next skill you want to cross off your list?

As a stylist and educator, it’s never ending. I always want to learn more and more and more. I’m really interested in the science part of it, right now, so I totally dweeb out over the structure and layers of the hair.
