These are our company values and something we take to heart. Over the course of 2019, #TeamPremier has volunteered for local Illinois charities. Spearheaded by Kohmela Grier, our Director of Finance and Operations, these volunteer events have allowed us to put those values into action.
Community Threads - June 24, 2019
Community Threads is a one-of-a-kind thrift store–what sets them apart is that they use their profits to help the surrounding community. Donations, purchases, and service at Community Threads helps fund real change by assisting the homeless, scholarships for children, and safety for inner-city youth through a family-plex. #TeamPremier was tasked with going through donated shoes and determining what shoes are resellable or not. Once this was determined the next group was tasked with cleaning them, tagging them, and then putting them out on the displays for customers to purchase.
Bernie’s Book Banks - September 19, 2019
Bernie’s Book Bank sources, processes, and distributes quality new and gently used children’s books to significantly increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers, and school-age children throughout Chicagoland. #TeamPremier spent 2 hours sorting, stickering, and bagging books.
November 2019
This Thanksgiving season we are donating non-perishable items to the West Deerfield Food Pantry. This organization provides resources to struggling families within the Deerfield Township area, which includes Deerfield, Bannockburn, Lake Forest, Highland Park, and Riverwoods. Non-perishable items, household cleaning products, and personal care items are distributed to families in need, along with other additional items, such as school supplies and holiday gifts during their necessary seasons. The West Deerfield Food Pantry is completely supported by generous donations from local organizations, businesses, and citizens, so we are happy to provide our support to this organization and do our part to help the community during the holidays.
