THE PAST
I began selling hair accessories to salons in the Chicago land
area out of the trunk of my car in the late 80's. I was a small
player in a big market; a market dominated by distributors who
could deliver a variety of products, and who had established long-term
relationships with both the vendors and the salon owners. Despite
these competitive hurdles, I thrived. I was successful early on
because I learned that customers need and want more out of their
suppliers than just products. Salons and stylists want support,
education and most of all, a partnership: a partnership that assists
them in nurturing and growing their business.
Premier Beauty Supply was founded in 1989 with that same philosophy
in mind. We strive to be the BEST, not necessarily the biggest.
We began with only 2 employees, servicing our customers out of
a 600 square foot warehouse.
THE PRESENT
Today, Premier Beauty Supply employs over 120 people, and operates
out of a modern 35,000 square foot office/warehouse facility in
Lincolnshire, Illinois. Our corporate philosophy for the 21st
century is: service the customer, our manufacturers, and our employees.
We do this through a unique combination of distinct marketing
events, the highest quality of continuing education and training,
and a commitment to provide value added services such as advertising
and promotional support as well as product tracking and profitability
consultation. This approach can be summed up as so: grow the business
of your customers, and your own growth will follow.
We show our commitment to our manufacturers by stocking their
products extensively, cooperating in marketing and promotional
ventures, and consistently seeking to broaden market share and
market penetration.
We provide a fun, energetic, and exciting business atmosphere
for our employees to thrive and grow. We continually strive to
recruit, employ and train only the best & brightest and reward
those valuable employees with competitive pay & benefits.
THE FUTURE
Premier is constantly reinventing itself. We are building an internal
marketing and sales support department to assist salons with higher-level
marketing tasks, such as sales database administration and logo
and promotional material creation. Our "Dedicated Salon Program"
caters to customers who allow Premier to be a major vendor within
their salon. Dedicated Salons receive additional support with
product training and education as well as substantial savings
on salon accessory and back bar products. They also receive customized
customer service support through an assigned Premier 'Concierge'
that can be contacted through a special toll-free phone number.
Our Premier concierges are specially trained to assist our valued
"Dedicated Salon" members with a wide array of expertise,
information, and special services.
CONCLUSION
